Did you know 1 in 9 people are fighting addiction in Greater Baltimore?
The consequences extend far beyond chronic homelessness. They affect us all. At Helping Up Mission, they work to set people free from drugs and alcohol, from poverty and homelessness, and from any other self-destructive behavior.
As a token of our appreciation for the tireless efforts the members, staff and volunteers put into this great mission; we spent the day away from our daily activities to give a little back. Providing a personal growth class taught by our Director of Ops, Matt Brown, and Broker Greg Brock. Exploring the facilities of the both the Men’s and newly established Women’s shelter to learn about the numerous programs offered to help support these brave men and women on their journey back to better lives. And finished off our day by helping serve lunch and cleaning the cafeteria.
While it was an educational and fulfilling morning, the work can’t stop here. Several of us have already, or are committed to making donations to continue funding the mission. 182,500 - Nights of shelter (500 nightly)
438,000 - Meals (1,200 per day)
155,000+ - Items of clothing and personal care
6,700 - Counseling sessions

We plan a quarterly day of giving to take time away from our busy lives and give back to the communities that we serve. Even more so we try and hyperfocus on the communities that our offices are located within on a more frequent basis; Baltimore City and the neighborhood of Canton along with Carroll County and Main St Westminster, MD.
